Anyone looking for a mulcher for private use or for the maintenance of verges, embankments or ditches will often find numerous machines that not only have a high power requirement on the tractor, but are also very large. But it doesn't always have to be a large working width: Mulchers for small tractors up to approx. 50 hp are even better suited to many tasks than their larger relatives. Thanks to their greater maneuverability and lower power requirement, the smaller mulchers are particularly suitable for maintaining winding green spaces and grass verges in private and municipal areas. Find out which mulchers for small tractors have made it into our top 5 here:
Müthing
Whether behind or next to the tractor: With the MU-FM/S from Müthing, you can work the way you want. Thanks to a side shift of up to 1.12 m, the mulcher can be used flexibly at the rear, sideways or in combination with a front mulcher. With working widths of 1.3-1.6 m, the MU-FM/S only requires a working power of 30-45 hp and two double-acting control units - ideal for small tractors. The cutting quality is also impressive thanks to the M carbide shackle knives, which are also characterized by high wear resistance. The short chopping bar ensures optimum crop flow, allowing the compact tractor to save fuel. Thanks to the trailing support roller, the cutting height of the MU-FM/S can be adjusted and the mulcher can be used in various applications without any problems.
Agritec
The GS41 from AGRITEC has been specially designed for use on compact carrier vehicles and small tractors. With a working width of 80-180 cm and a power requirement of only 14-55 hp, the compact mulcher is very well suited even for less powerful small tractors, but with an area output of up to 18,000 m²/h it can still deliver a good performance. A particular highlight of the GS41 is the flexible mounting options on the small tractor: not only can the mulcher be mounted either at the front or rear, it can also be fitted with three-point CAT. 1, a coupling triangle CAT. 0 or even with individual solutions. This means that the mulcher is guaranteed to fit any small tractor. The finely balanced rotor of the GS41 not only ensures almost vibration-free operation, but also ejects the shredded material at high speed across the entire working width. This ensures a clean cut without turbulence and lumps, even with wet grass.
Müthing
The MU-E/S from Müthing is the ideal mulcher for anyone who wants to work with a small tractor but still wants a good working performance. Suitable for drive powers from 30-60 hp, the mulcher is available in working widths from 1.2 m to 1.6 m. The mulcher's robust double frame allows the machine to be attached to the front or rear of the carrier vehicle. In addition, a parallel side shift of up to 50 cm is possible for mulching on ditches and edges - making the MU-E/S flexible for various applications. The short design ensures a favorable center of gravity close to the small tractor and the spiral rotor with M carbide shackle blade combines high wear resistance with cutting quality and smooth running. Particularly useful for private individuals or small businesses: when the mulcher is no longer needed, the MU-E/S can be folded up and stowed away to save space.
Agritec
Mulching embankments or ditches with a small tractor? No problem with the GS41-P rear and side mulcher from AGRITEC. Thanks to the hydraulic tilt adjustment from -60° to +90° and a hydraulic side shift of up to 35 cm, the mulcher is ideal for keeping hedges, roadsides and shrubs in shape. The mulcher is suitable for 24-65 hp compact tractors and has a working width of 140-160 cm. When mulching slopes and ditches in particular, drivers of lighter compact tractors are often afraid of their vehicle tipping over. AGRITEC counteracts this risk with a specially designed suspension of the mowing head on the frame of the side mulcher: The weight of the mulcher is shifted to the left lower link and thus to the left side of the tractor, so that the weight is evenly distributed. Thanks to the sturdy steel housing and the robust hammer flails, the GS41-P is not only very suitable for green growth, but also for mulching woody material with a diameter of less than 4 cm.
Zanon
A clean cut, even with smaller tractors: The TSS from Zanon only requires an output of 12 to 30 hp and is therefore ideal for smaller compact tractors. With a working width of 100-120 cm, it is ideal for private green spaces, but can also score points in municipal applications. Thanks to the high rotational speed of its spiral rotor with 20 or 26 flails, the TSS impresses with a clean cut and the cutting height can be adjusted using the rear support roller.
